Managing Partner

Mohamud Salim Omar is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya focusing on the areas of commercial, labour, and corporate law litigation. He also has a rich background in the policy process particularly in gender issues, international human rights, legislative drafting and company law.

Mohamud Salim Omar holds a Masters of Law degree (LL.M) from the University of Nairobi; Master of Arts, International relations and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) from the University of Nairobi.

As the Managing Partner in the firm, Mohamud Salim Omar has undertaken consultancy for various state, private, and multinational agencies, including the government of Kenya, East African Community (EAC), African Union (AU), among others, on various areas of legal reforms, International Humanitarian law, human rights, gender and climate change and policy formulation.

Managing Partner - Nakuru Chambers

Mr. Abuya Mogendi M. is the Managing Partner at Salim Omar & Co. Advocates (Nakuru Chambers), with extensive expertise in civil and criminal litigation, Conveyancing and perfection of bank securities,Labour and Employment matters, Family Law practice and Alternative Dispute Resolution.. He is also a commissioner for oaths and an accomplished practitioner in the Nakuru chambers. Abuya’s desire for diversity and passion for law have propelled him to the heights of partner, and he strives to help make the Salim Omar and Co. Advocates a global brand.
Mr. Abuya graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Second Class Honors, Upper Division) from Moi University and was called to the Bar in 2019 following completion of his Post graduate Diploma (ATP) from the Kenya School of Law. With a record of accomplishment that speaks for itself, he has risen from an associate in various law firms to a managing partner of the Nakuru Chambers of the firm and has successfully handled a number of high value business-related transactions, and civil and criminal litigation.
He has also attended several courses and trainings in his areas of expertise including Certified Public Secretary (CPS) and the Advanced Human Rights Course on Policing and Vulnerability in Africa at the Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, and University of Pretoria in 2020.
Over this period, he has developed an amazing work ethic and strong legal skills while conducting litigation proceedings at all the superior and subordinate courts in Kenya touching on an array of areas of law including but not limited to Election disputes, Labor and Employment related issues, Land and Environment Law, Family and Succession Law, Criminal Law and Running Down matters.
Owing to his creative approach and willingness to learn the ways of the client, Mr. Abuya is distinguished for handling commercial transactions, public interest litigation, human rights advocacy, and Conveyancing and perfection of bank securities and high value Contracts of diverse nature (including but not limited to MOAs and MOUs.)

Mr. Peter Mwangi

Advocate of the High Court

Peter Mwangi is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a certified professional mediator, a court-
annexed mediator, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (herein CIArb), a legal
audit and compliance officer, a patent agent, and a publisher.
Peter Holds Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) in International Trade Law and Investment from the University of Nairobi.

Mr. Benjamin Makokha

Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Law from Moi University (LLB) and a Diploma from Kenya School of Law.
Benjamin has extensive experience in litigation and civil procedure and handles Constitutional Law, Judicial Review, Commercial Law and Family Law.

Pupils

The firm has got the following pupils currently undertaking their pupillage under the stewardship of Dr. Rodgers Manana.

1. Mr. Jamala Hassan, holder of LL.B degree from University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Arts (Political Science & Public Administration) from University of Nairobi and post graduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law.

2. Ms. Joan Maura, holder of LL.B degree from the Kabarak University and a post graduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law. CPS at KCA University and Diploma in French.

3. Miss Michelle, holder of LL.B degree from the University of Nairobi.

Support staff

The firm has two professional secretaries, and three experienced paralegal clerks. The firm has four pupils – advocates who double up as research assistants and one support staff. The firm also has a qualified accountant who handles the firm’s financial matters.

Our lawyers and staff are given hands-on legal training, computer training, documentation handling, and taught computerised scheduling techniques. We have state-of-the-art computing to optimise efficiency and productivity, and reduce turnaround time. Our offices are fitted with high speed internet to facilitate comprehensive online legal research and reliable online communication with our clients. We also have reliable and faster wireless (Wi-Fi access) in our office premises which clients can use whenever they need to check important business emails, or conduct online research.

The firm is financially stable and has the capacity to provide legal services at short notice in any part of the East African region.
